A useful review earns its score.
Our comparisons help you choose a game: what works, what gets in the way, and who will enjoy it.
What goes into a comparison?
We compare documented mechanics, controls, progression, availability, and purchase models using official game pages and release information. When a comparison includes hands-on observations, we identify the edition, device, and testing date.
How ratings work
Combat, progression, usability, value, and fit each receive a score out of ten. The overall rating is their equally weighted mean, rounded to one decimal place. These are our editorial opinions, not player-review averages. We explain the tradeoffs behind each recommendation and can update scores as a game evolves.
Pictures should prove something
Gameplay captures show the actual build and carry useful captions. Older development images are labeled. Generated illustration is never presented as a gameplay screenshot.
Price and availability
We link to official listings and check each platform and region. “Free to start” includes games with optional purchases. Planned releases and systems remain labeled as planned.
What changes after publication?
When availability, features, or pricing changes, we update the comparison and its supporting evidence. A new year in a headline should reflect a fresh review, not a new copy of the same page.
